Friday 10th. At Musm. Completed Claud. D. 6. Began & finished

from Cleop. B. I. a copy of verses in laudem Hen. V. written by

a monk of Westm’r. as he says, “sub modico tecto, pausant

in paupere lecto.”

They are only valuable on account of their being contemporary.^ In this MS. are

various other pieces of sec. 13. Amongst them, a copy of the life of St.

Edmund of Pountney, by Robert Rich, formerly transcribed by me from

## another MS. ^(See p. 342) there is also a prolix Life of Gilbert de Sempringham,

& the Letter of Lucifer to the Pope, temp. Rich’d. II. — I finished all I had

to do early, & then not havg anything farther marked out by Mr Petrie, I

employed myself in collatg. Ritson’s ### “Ancient songs” with ^the MSS. — In Ev~g. Gurney‘s MS.
