11 February

Saturday 11th. At ten oC. went by appointment to Westminster, & met Mr

Petrie at Mr Hodson’s, Dean’s Yard. where the Liber Pilosus of St. Paul’s,

was waitg for us. I transcribed the whole of the charters to John, &#

we collated those in the Monasticon. — We meet here again on Tuesday

next. On my return home found a letter from Dr. Bliss – informing me he

had had a conversation with Dr. Macbride, who wishes # me to come

to reside about the 10th. of March. This is impossible, if I am to go

to Holkham. I had written myself to Dr. Bliss today, & given the letter

to Henry, to frank, so that he will ###know what my movements are. When

I hear from Mr Roscoe, I shall be able to decide with certainty.

In Ev’g, Gurney‘s MS. & Sophocles.
