Wednesday. 18th. At Musm. Began copying Tib. A. VIII. “Liber

###fratris Joh. Capgrave,” &c. a work in three books, treat~g of illus=

trious persons who have borne the name of Henry.* The

first book De Imperatorib3 I have nothing to do with. The

2d contains the six Henrys, Kings of England, & ^is addressed

to the last. The 3d book contains distinguished individuals

both secular & ecclesiastic; English & foreign. Of this I

copy a part. The Ms has been much injured ^by fire & many

of the leaves are misplaced. Each life ## has prefixed

a neat ########portrait of the sovereign, &c. in an illuminated letter.
