6 March

Monday 6th. Sent a letter to Mr Petrie, describ~g the

######MS. of the Saxon Laws. In the lib’y from 10 till 5 – & went

over the Latin Bibles & Psalters.

########################################

#######. Archdeacon Glover arrived, – a profound scholar,

who has ########lately been employed with Mr Pettigrew in compiling a Catalogue of the Duke of Sussex’s library.

He promises during his stay here to assist me through the

Greek

MSS. (####### many of which are not at all noticed by Roscoe).

We began on those which are in the worst condition, & most difficult

to read, & altho’ we proceed but slowly, yet it is with advantage.

Capt. Greville dined here.
