Sunday 26.^th Mary had promised to go to church with a

family by the named of Rook, who have lately visited them,

so at one oC. I went to the doors to wait for her – & escorted

her home. Her mama & sisters were in the room when

we entered, & I was very much disappointed, in not

yet having an opportunity of embracing her. She

walked out with me alone for two hours, but the

wind blew so high, we could only walk back#^wards

and forwards a short distance from the house.

I again spent the evening with them. She accepted

the caricatures & other presents I offered her.
