Wednesday 4th. At 11 oC. was at Lord Anglesey‘s, where Mr P.
met me, & the MS. being given to us by a Mr Bear — his Lordship’s
maître des affaires, we proceeded to collate part ^of it with what
wasis printed by Dugdale, & copy^I then copied the remaining charters. There
is one original, or & rather copy of ^an origl. charter of Edwy and
a copy of Wulfric Sprot’s Will, made 11/12 Cent~y, in which the
initial letters of the Testes are alternately blue & red – a sufficient
## proof of its not being an original, – and on the same piece
of parchment is the copy of another charter. I finished the
transcription of all we shall require, but we had not time to complete
our collation. Met Henry at 4 oC. & walked with him till 5.
Gave him a letter I wrote to Dr Bliss, to frank, in which I have made
some inquiries relative to my Rooms, furniture, &c. ^in Magdalen Hall.
Mr Petrie goes to Lord Spencer‘s on Friday, & does not return
till the Monday week follow.g.
