Monday May. 1.st The Choristers have here a custom of going
at 5 oC. in the morn~g to Magd. Coll. Chapel, & singing, but I
did not get up to ###hear it. Attended the usual lectures,
& spent the remainder of the day in Bodln. I procured
the Laud MS. no. 108. in which is contained the Romances
of Havelok & Horn, & commenced making a list of its
contents. This is written in a good hand of Edw. 1.sts time, a
little before 1300. Besides the Romances mentioned, are
only lives of saints, about 60 in number, composed in
the metre of Robt. of Gloucester, & of the same period. – In the
evening, walked with Mayo along the side of the Charwell,
by ####the walk lead.g from the Parks, which I had only partly
explored last year.
