“Frederick” the son of William John and Sarah Madden was baptised at St Thomas’ church, Portsmouth on 28 April 1801. His date of birth was recorded as 16 February. However, Frederic makes no reference to his birthday in the journal for 1826, nor does he record any dates of significance to the family.
