Tuesday 25th. Chapel. Received a letter from Mr. Petrie, ac=
companied by Whitaker’s Life of St. Neot. Mr P. wishes me
to collate the two pieces at the end with the originals.
The metrical life is in Magd. Coll. Lib’y. The prose one in
Bodl. No. 535. Lectures, Livy, & Logic. Both our classes
are now rather numerous, & the Hall is fuller than was
ever remembered. Above 80 sat down to dinner yesterday.
The tutors advise me to read for a Class, ### and ensure me
success, but I am certain I should not have time. At
