Wedny. 5th. At Musm. from 10 till 4. I find, that
I am allowed to come at 8 ^o’clock if I like, & remain till
5oC. or later, so that I may contrive to get two or three
hours to myself in the MS. Room, if I choose.
Called on Strachan at 6 oC. & we dined together.
Afterwards walked in the Park, &c. I have been looking
out for lodgings all the week, ###but have only yet met with
one likely to answer, for which they ask 25 s. per week,
if taken for a twelvemonth! — #### I called on the
Graafs also, & explained to them the change in my plans.
l found at their house a letter from Mr Petrie, merely
pointing out some transcripts at the Musm. & a copy
from Harding of the 6th No. of Blore’s “Monumental Remains”.
