6 July

Thursday 6th. Got to the Musm. at ½ past nine. Past

an hour in the MS. rooms, ^extracting from MS. Cott. Tib. A. XX. I also & saw Mr Forshall, & had###

a conference, with him respectg Tib. A.XV. one of the burnt

MSS. which Petrie wishes in part transcribed. Mr F. was

extremely civil. Afterwards had a long conversation with

Mr Ellis, who talked about David Powell, & promised to

use his influence in getting me to a sight of David‘s

pictures, &c. I remained in the Book Departmt.

till ½ past four in order to compensate for the hour

I had taken upstairs. Walked to Westmr. & called on

Palgrave, but he was not at home. Dined with Henry as

usual, & spent the Ev’g in the Green Park de more.

The lady at No 104 is not yet gone away, so I must

get into lodgings as soon as I can, for the little room

I occupy at present I find very inconvenient.+

+ Thursday 6th Today Dr Baddam
