on with Havelok, and assisted Dr. Bliss in writing the
Article Thomas Arundel, in Blore’s “Sepulch. Monts”.
Dined with D.r B. & afterwards returned to the library,
where we remained till dark. The books we consulted
to form this article (most, or indeed all of which, except
Dugdale, were pointed out by me) were as follows;-
Dugdale’s Baronage, Collins’s Do., Walsingham, Gough’s
Sepulch. Monts., Titus Livius, Anstis’ Order of Garter,
Fabyan’s Chronicle, Stow’s Annals, Froissart, Holinshed, notices &c
Extracts of MSS. in Liby. of K. of France, Archæologia for 1823. (in
which is Creton’s narrative), Rymer’s Foedera, Vincent’s Heraldry,
with MS. notes by Camden; another copy, with MS. notes by
Sir Symond Dewes; and a third with MSS. notes by Lord Lei=
cester, Le Neve, & others; and Milles’ Catal. of Honor. We
looked at many more, but these were our authorities. I
took home to my rooms to look at, Ellis’s “Original” Letters, First Series,
